Charity Golf Tournament

The birth of this tournament came out of a need to have the Pediatric Ward at the hospital refurbished. Diamonds International tending to strongly favor projects with children decided to sponsor a golf tournament that would raise funds for the Pediatric Ward Refurbishment program. The target was half a million dollars. 

Since 1999 the tournament has become an annual event with a very strong support group.  Partners Sandy Lane have been with us since inception and continue to work with us to meet our targets.  By 2000, the Diamonds International\Rotary Club of Barbados West\Sandy Lane Golf Classic raised over US$162,500 meeting the target for the completion of the refurbishment program.

From 2001 to 2004 the Classic raised US$ 200,000 and these funds went towards a National Scholar Trust Fund (supported and endorsed by the Government of Barbados) for less fortunate children seeking tertiary education.  This tournament is held at the luxurious Sandy Lane Golf and Country Club (www.sandylane.com).

This year’s tournament will be held , Sunday May 14, 2006 at the premier Sandy Lane Golf & Country Club.
